In a recent study by ServiceMagic.com, an overwhelming number of homeowners have a neighbor on their block who needs to work harder on improving their home’s appearance.

“Whether it’s a yard with tall weeds, junk cars in the driveway or on the lawn or just a bad paint job, there seems to always be a house that others say could use some – or a lot of – improvement,” according to David Lupberger, a home improvement expert with ServiceMagic.

In fact, 63% of the survey respondents admitted to having a problem neighbor who made the neighborhood look bad. Amazingly, 21% of the respondents say it was probably their own home that was the problem home. 81% of those polled said more should be done to crack down on the poorly maintained home.

If you think your home might be “that” home, take a moment to consider how it is impacting the value of not only your home, but other homes in the neighborhood as well.
